How do you explain Yoga?

How do you explain what happens in a yoga practice?  Is it a description of the movements, the breathing, the focus?  Or is it about how you experience it in your body and mind?

I’ve been contemplating this for a while now.  Partly because I would enjoy having a clear way of explaining why I do what I do, especially with people who are not familiar with yoga.  Partly because it helps to sustain my own practice and continued learning.

👇 This resonates for me:

It is the process of the practice that makes it yoga, not the practice itself. Yoga teaches us: how to be in the world, how to pay attention to what is here, how to get to know ourselves.

How about for you?
